In the summer of 2020 I displayed two triptychs at my local skatepark as an act of social intervention. They were both made from old skateboard decks I had retired and held onto. The triptychs present explicit messages surrounding social justice and inclusiveness. I anticipated a short lifespan for these signs based on the materials used to display them as well as the fact that the messaging might be considered provocative in the socio-political climate of the United States. Since last checking, the signs have endured, even being reinforced by the community that frequents the park.
