Pure Filth Machine

Pure Filth Machine is a dirty water filtration/contamination system and immersive sound and video installation by artists Dylan Ricards and Ashton S. Phillips. Utilizing locally sourced water, pollution-consuming bacteria and fungi, a dozen working water pumps, hundreds of feet of black vinyl tubing and sheet, and an orchestra of vibrating objects and fractured video projections, Pure Filth Machine performs the precarity of dirty/clean dualism and invites the human visitor to become a part of the purifying muck.
